GOLDWING EXPRESS WILL NOT BE HERE THIS SUNDAY

It was posted on their website by mistake. We are not having our Sunday shows this year

FLATLAND BLUEGRASS BARN WILL NOT BE OPEN THIS SEASON

We are taking a break from our Sunday bluegrass here at Flatland Bluegrass Barn. We want to do some traveling. We can't travel and be here every weekend to open the barn.

We have made a lot of friends during our three years hosting bluegrass at the barn.

Thanks to all of you for your support. Special thanks to Lanny and Mary Lou for helping . Also special thanks  to all the loyal bluegrass pickers.

                                   Please keep in touch.

                                        SAD NEWS

Wreford Meyers passed away about 3PM on Friday March 25, 2011 following a short illness.

Wreford was a talented bluegrass musician frequently playing the upright  bass and singing here at the barn. We had to coax him into his John Henry routine. He was always saying he couldn't sing it right now because he had "a chew in"(note the spit cup on the bass in the picture) . I have a feeling he could hardly wait to be coaxed.  I will think fondly of him every time I hear that song. He will be missed

                                            Foxie

This winter has been hard on our bluegrass family. We have lost Foxie, Don  Cornett , Andy Amos and Ernie Sexton.

September 26 was the last show for this season. We may have some jams here at the barn. Watch this web site for details

Hello,

We are Don and Sue Treadway. Our farm is in southeast Indiana just about a mile from the Indiana/Ohio state line 30 miles north of Cincinnati, Ohio. The nearest town is Bath, Indiana.which has a population of around 30.

We both have enjoyed listening to bluegrass music for many years. Last year we decided to clean out our barn and spruce it up a little to have a place for bluegrass musicians to perform in front of an audience. We have talked about doing it for years and finally did it. Now we are ending our third season. Thanks for all your support.

We take lots of pictures and put some on this web site. I  removed almost all pictures from last season so I can add new ones each week. Sorry if the favorite picture of yourself has disappeared .

We would like to meet you. Please come to us & introduce yourself. Don is in the orange hat.

Our barn has been open Sunday 2-5 pm since May 18 2008.

We do close on  some holiday weekends ( Mothers Day, Memorial Weekend, Fathers Day, 4th of July and  Labor Day Weekend). I will post closings on this site so you can check before coming.

Our friends, Tom and Mary Lou Ferris have been very supportive ever since we first started planning for this. They help us in so many ways and we really appreciate them. Mary Lou runs our snack bar where she serves up sandwiches, chips, drinks and usually homemade pies, cookies and cake.

Tom is a good carpenter and made a drink holder stand for the stage among other items.

We would like some leaders to get jam sessions going outside the barn on Sundays. We have pop up tent, shade trees and chairs--all you have to add are pickers.

We hope you will come out to visit us to jam, just listen to the music or both. Thanks and we hope to see you here soon.
